Boo! Welcome to the Halloween edition of the Commonwealth Lounge Chef’s Corner!!! I should really treat this as an Autumn Chef’s Corner, since I missed September entirely. Are you all ready to costume up, and celebrate Halloween! I’m a bit late to tell you about our third annual Halloween Costume Bash, but if you see this in time, please come on down (in costume!) and help us celebrate!
Things in the kitchen have been moving along. We have finally gotten our menu completed and are anxious to get that out to you. I think you will find the new items are a welcome addition to our diverse menu. Thanks to all of you for supporting my menu, and it’s great to get a chance to talk to some of you. I take your comments seriously and strive to make your dining experience as tasty and pleasant as possible.
All right, did I just sound like a pitch man or what?! And if you call now….you get two, yes two, tastefully written mission statements!! Okay, really? Looking forward to November, we should be running some specials that reflect a more home-style sort of feel. Sheppard’s’ Pie, Pot Roast, Stews, and Meatloaves come to mind.
Let’s shake off those winter chills and fill the belly with some yummy goodness!
You all know that I am a diehard BoSox fan and obviously a Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins fan. Sox killed me, Pats are treading in dangerous waters, Celtics looked great in their opener, and even the Bruins have a shot this year! Guess it’s not all bad. Hope you all enjoy a safe and happy Halloween! Watch out for black cats!
Georgina on my mind.
Toast you seeds,
Nick Phelps
